Hi, I am Tenzin – a Munich based DOP/Cinematographer with Tibetian roots,
born and raised in Freiburg im Breisgau.

In 2006, I started filming with a small digital camera with a running time of 30 seconds and no sound recordings, which trained me early on to think about my shots efficiently. Me and my childhood friend Leon spent days and hours to do short-films for “YouTube”, which wasn’t that famous at the time. At the age of 21, I moved to Manhattan for 3 months, where I decided to become rich and famous – or at least work in the Film Industry.
After completing filmschool in Munich at the Bavarian Academy of Television in the subject camera and digital cinematography, I worked more and more with light and learned to control the light and contrasts at the ARRI Academy in Berlin by the master of light: Morris Flam (Gaffer of: I am Legend, The Tourist, Spotlight, Black Swan, …).

Since I have moved to Munich, I have been working as a Cinematographer for documentaries and commercial projects in more than 600 places in 15 countries. I really got fascinated by the way of telling stories from all over the world and meeting people like Reinhold Messner, Helene von Damm (the assistant of US President Ronald Reagan), filming with astronauts or visiting places like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Silicon Valley.

My debut documentary film as a DP was shown at the well-known dok.festival Munich in 2020 and was nominated for the audience award.

Today, I love to be responsible for small and bigger projects like TV Commercials, TV Documentaries, passion projects and analog projects on 16mm film.
